Bears' Brown Coming to Bloomington

Chicago Bears' defensive end Alex Brown, a two-time alternate selection for the Pro Bowl game, will meet fans and sign autographs at the Bloomington Extreme indoor football game June 7 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.

Brown will appear the U.S. Cellular Coliseum retail store, beginning at 6 p.m. and prior to the Bloomington Extreme's 7:05 p.m. contest against Omaha. The event is sponsored by U.S. Cellular.

Brown was a fourth-round selection by the Bears in the 2002 NFL draft. He has started the last 64 consecutive games, the most by a defensive player and the second most overall on the team.

He had 41 solo tackles and 10 assists last season to go along with 4.5 quarterback sacks and one pass interception.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Brown has recorded 298 tackles over the last four seasons as a full-time starter. He was selected as an alternate for the 2006 and 2007 Pro Bowls.

During his 95-game career with the Bears, the University of Florida product has 283 solo tackles and 52 assists. He also has 32.5 quarterback sacks and four pass interceptions. He is just one of seven defensive ends in the NFL who has started every game since 2003.

He has ranked among the top 10 on the Bears in tackles in every season since entering the NFL in 2002. The only other Bears' player to rank in the top 10 in tackles in each of the last five seasons is linebacker Brian Urlacher.
