Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY - The 2006 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with WHTM-TV that Game 3 and Game 4 of the Calder Cup Finals will be televised locally on abc-27, with a potential Game 5 of the Finals shown on WHTM-TV's digital cable Weathernet channel 246. The announcement was made Tuesday by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

The games in Hamilton mark the fourth consecutive season that WHTM-TV and the BEARS have aired HERSHEY games on over-the-air television in central Pennsylvania. HERSHEY play-by-play announcer John Walton and WHTM-TV Sports Director Gregg Mace will call the action from Copps Coliseum for all three road games in the series. Games 3 and 4 will be on abc-27 at 7:30 on Monday and Wednesday nights, with a potential Game 5 set for 7:30 on Thursday night. Thursday's Game 5 will be carried on abc-27's Weathernet channel 246 on Comcast Digital Cable. This is due to WHTM'S network commitment to carry the 2007 NBA Finals.

The games will be part of a radio/television simulcast, with BEARS flagship radio station WQIC-FM (100.1) and WHYL-AM 960 carrying the broadcast as well. Airtime on radio will still be 20 minutes prior to face-off.

"We are grateful, as I'm sure our fans are as well, to have the support of abc-27 and the ability to show our road games to our fans back in central Pennsylvania," said BEARS Senior Manager of Communications John Walton. "This is an exciting time for HERSHEY BEARS Hockey, and we are very happy that WHTM will enhance the Calder Cup experience."
