February 6, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

February 5, 2006. Frenzy forwards Alexus Foyle (6'6 BYU Hawaii) and Joe Britto (6'5 UMass Dartmouth) have been invited to compete in two prestigious slam dunk competitions this winter. Foyle, the cousin of Golden State Warriors (NBA) F-C Adonal Foyle, will represent the Frenzy in the ABA Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday during All Star weekend in Florida. Foyle has also been notified of his status as an ABA All Star alternate.

"We're very happy for ‘Flex'. He has worked very hard on his overall game this year, and we are happy he is getting some recognition for it" explained Frenzy G.M. Ian McCarthy. "He has always had the natural ability and a 45 inch vertical leap doesn't hurt either." Foyle came to America eight years ago from the Caribbean Island of St. Vincent - Grenadines.

Alexus and Joe Britto have both been invited to compete in the ESPN City Slam dunk contest to be held and filmed in Miami the end of March. The pair were among 4 finalists chosen to represent the city of Boston. They will be competing against dunkers from Miami, Oakland, Houston, Philly, Detroit, D.C., and Saint Louis for cash prizes including a $50,000 grand prize. The competition will be nationally televised on ESPN.
