Bellingham Slam News Release

The Bellingham Slam used season-best 63 percent shooting as they defeated the Tijuana Dragons, 157-113, in an American Basketball Association game on Sunday afternoon at Whatcom Pavilion. The 157 points set a new record for the Slam, shattering the old record of 144 set against Bellevue on January 8.

Craig Roosendaal had his best shooting night of his professional career, scoring 27 points on 10-for-20 shooting, including 7-for-16 from three point range. Roosendaal led a quartet of Slam players with 20-point performances, with Mike Parker scoring 23, Kevin Woodberry notching 22, and Drew Langstraat adding 20. Langstraat's 20 points were also a season high.

Bellingham (14-11) stormed out of the gate, and with the team leading 26-17 with 3:47 left in the first quarter, nailed four consecutive three-point shots, including three by Roosendaal, to increase their lead to 21. The Slam maintained a 20-point for most of the game until another flurry of three-pointers at the end of the third quarter gave the Slam a 33-point lead at 118-85 going into the final frame. The Slam rounded out the game with a 39-point fourth quarter, filled with a variety of three-pointers and acrobatic dunks.

Tijuana's Harold Arceneaux scored 38 points, earning game-high honors for the second straight night. Dennis Rodman did not suit up in the game for the Dragons.

The Slam swept Tijuana 4-0 in the season series, winning twice in Tijuana and twice in Bellingham. The Slam now take a break for the All-Star Game on February 11, then return to action at Whatcom Pavilion on Tuesday, February 14 at 7 pm against the L.A. Aftershock.
