TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Traverse City Beach Bums have announced the signing of former Milwaukee Brewers farmhand, right-handed pitcher, Jordan Desguin.
Jordan comes to the Beach Bums after three seasons in affiliated ball, last year pitching for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in the single-A Midwest League. He had a record of 5-5 with an earned run average of 5.13, both as a starter and reliever. He was drafted by the Brewers in the 36th round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft from Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, FL, starting his career in the Arizona Rookie League. There, he had a 2-3 record with a 2.86 ERA, striking out 28 in 28 innings. In 2016, he split between Helena in the rookie-level Pioneer League, and Wisconsin, earning a 3-1 record with a 3.44 ERA, and was the starter for the Pioneer League in the All-Star Game against the Northwest League. Overall, in affiliated ball, he was 10-9 with a 4.15 ERA, striking out 167 while walking 53 in 186 innings.
The 2018 spring training roster will be ready to go for the 13th annual Beach Bums Fan Fest on Saturday, May 5th. The gates open at 11am, batting practice is at noon, and the Yellow/Navy game starts at 1pm.
