Traverse City Beach Bums News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, MI, January 2, 2006: The Traverse City Beach Bums announced today that they have added Kevin White, an outfielder to the 2006 roster.

White is the 2004 Frontier League Simontacchi Award (Rookie of the Year) winner in the Frontier League and was a Frontier League All-Star last season. The signing means that the Beach Bums now have the FL contract rights to the last two rookies of the year (Nick Batkoski, 2005).

White hit .291 in 93 games for the Richmond Roosters last season, smacking 20 homers and driving in 72 runs splitting time between right and center field. He is projected as the team's rightfielder this season.

In 2004 with Richmond, White hit .322 with 11 homers and 37 RBI in 72 games after joining the Roosters on June 17. Overall he is a career .305 hitter.

Another asset that the 6'2" Spartanburg, SC resident brings to the table is his arm. After garnering nine outfield assists in 2004, he finished second in the league with 14 last season.

The Traverse City Beach Bums will kick off their inaugural season on May 24, 2006 with a game against the defending Frontier League champions, the Kalamazoo Kings.
