CRESTWOOD, IL - In their first ever playoff game, the Traverse City Beach Bums locked up with the Windy City ThunderBolts in a pitcher's duel for six innings before Windy City scored in the seventh on their way to a 5-1 final.

The ThunderBolts lead the best-of-five series 1-0.

The Beach Bums cracked the scoreboard for the first time in the sixth inning. Matt Brown led off the frame with a single and was sacrificed to center by Michael Diaz. Two batters later, J. T. Hall took an outside corner fastball the other way, singling to left to score Brown for a 1-0 Traverse City lead.

TC would hold the lead into the bottom of the seventh until Windy City rallied for five runs, sending ten men to the plate to take a 5-1 lead.

Windy City was able to make the runs stand up despite the Beach Bums threatening in both the eighth and ninth. Dustin Williams (1-0) picked up the win allowing one run in seven plus innings. Enrique Lechuga (0-1) took the loss for the Beach Bums, tossing six shutout innings before running into seventh inning trouble.

Offensively, J. T. Hall had two hits for the Beach Bums and Matt Brown reached base three times with a single and two walks.
