TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Traverse City Beach Bums(24-41) came within a run of overcoming a 9-2 deficit, falling to the River City Rascals(36-31) by a final score of 9-8, dropping their ninth game in a row.

Alexis Rivera grounded to short but in an effort to complete a double play, Johnny Morales rushed the throw and it ended up in the dugout That allowed DeBlieux, Patterson, and Kivett to score, and Rivera went to second. Two batters later, the bases were loaded again when John Montgomery and Zach Files reached on walks.

Orlando Rivera was then walked to drive in a run and DeBlieux hit an RBI infield single, pulling the Bums within two at 9-7. In the ninth, Kengor led off with a double, moved to third on a groundout, and scored on an Alexis Rivera groundout, but that's as close as Traverse City would come.
