Traverse City Beach Bums News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.-Now that Saturday's rain has finally cleared, the Traverse City Beach Bums have counted up the sales from FANfest and are proud to announce that the Beach Bums Bailout resulted in a near doubling in the amount of tickets sold at the 2008 FANfest.

The Beach Bums Bailout, in which participating fans received five free tickets for every 10 tickets purchased, paid off for the organization and fans alike, as the Beach Bums faithful braved rain, storms, and an 8 a.m. start to reserve the best seats for the 2009 season.

The doubling of ticket sales is even more impressive considering the current economic conditions, and poor weather on Saturday, which caused the cancellation of the planned high school baseball tournament at Wuerfel Park.

Tickets for many of the most popular Beach Bums home games, including FANtastic Firework Nights, and the Fourth of July celebration, were purchased quickly on Saturday. Fans hoping to attend those, or any other Beach Bums home games, are encouraged to reserve their seats now at www.tcbeachbums.com or by calling (231) 943-0100.

The Beach Bums open their 2009 home slate against the Southern Illinois Miners on Tuesday, May 26 with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Wuerfel Park.
