Kokomo, IN - The Traverse City Pit Spitters blew out the Kokomo Jackrabbits in an 11-2 wire-to-wire win on Saturday night.

The offense set single season highs in hits (17), steals (11) and winning margin (9). Six players had multiple hits and eight of nine starters recorded at least one hit. Six different players stole a base, with four players stealing multiple. The team went 11-11 on stolen bases, not getting caught once.

Three runs scored in the first. Marshall Toole and Colin Summerhill had RBIs and the third run scored on an error. More errors occurred in the second inning, leading to five more Pit Spitters runs. Four errors, three of them by the Kokomo catcher allowed the big inning.

A ninth run scored in the top of the sixth on a Toole sac fly. The Jackrabbits would score their two and only runs in the bottom half to make the score 9-2.

Mason Patel got the win, throwing six innings on the mound. He allowed just four hits and two runs, striking out four batters. He improves his season numbers to 3-0 with a 3.62 ERA.

One run came in the seventh and eighth innings as well. Dallas Duarte had an RBI single in the seventh and Brennen Dorighi had an RBI single in the eighth to make it 11-2. Three relievers tossed a scoreless inning apiece, securing the nine-run win.

Jakob Marsee - 3-5, three runs, RBI, double, 2-2 on stolen bases

Colin Summerhill and Brennen Dorighi - 2-5 each, combined three RBIs

Alec Atkinson - 2-4, two walks, run, 3-3 on stolen bases

Dallas Duarte - 2-4, RBI, run, 1-1 on stolen bases

The Pit Spitters will take on the Jackrabbits again tomorrow, this time at home. First pitch Sunday is scheduled for 5:05 ET.
