HOUSTON - (Monday) - BBVA Compass Stadium will celebrate its fifth anniversary on Friday, May 12 at the Houston Dynamo vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC Major League Soccer match.
To commemorate the occasion, stadium and Houston Dynamo officials will be joined by city and county elected officials and dignitaries for a press conference to mark the occasion on Tuesday, May 9 at 1 p.m. CDT.
The press conference will take place at the Tecate Social, located on the south concourse overlooking the playing field.

The stadium officially opened its doors on May 12, 2012 for a Dynamo game vs. D.C. United. Since that day, the stadium has hosted more than 225 ticketed events including Dynamo and Houston Dash home games, Texas Southern University football games, international soccer and rugby matches, concerts and many more.
The stadium welcomed its three millionth guest prior to kickoff of Saturday night's Dynamo home game against Orlando City SC. Mike Duncan and his family - wife Angie and son Connor - were greeted with confetti, music, and gifts from Dynamo mascot Dynamo Diesel. The Duncans received a custom No. 3 Dynamo jersey with "MILLION" on the name plate and were upgraded to VIP Field Seats for the game, along with other surprises and experiences throughout the evening.
