Baysox Announce 2010 Promotions

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the promotional schedule for the 2010 season. The schedule includes an exclusive event for Louie's Kids Club members every month, a three-part kids concert series, fireworks every Saturday and a pair of bobblehead giveaways. If 71 Baysox home games are not enough to satisfy fans' desire to see future Orioles before they arrive in Baltimore, the Baysox also have a pair of single-day bus trips planned to Virginia.

Bowie's lovable mascot Louie is excited to host a special event at the stadium each month for his friends in the kids club. Fans ages 12 and under can join the club at www.baysox.com/kids/reg; at the 11th annual Free Family FunFest on Saturday, March 27, at Prince George's Stadium; or at any Baysox home game. Every member of Louie's Kids Club will receive one free gift at their next Baysox game, limit one per season.

Baltimore-based kids rock band Milkshake returns to rock Prince George's Stadium as the first leg in an all-new kids concert series. The band will perform on top of the third base dugout at 4:30 p.m. to help celebrate Louie's Birthday on Sunday, June 5. The Great Zucchini will perform a magic show on top of the dugout as the second part of the series on Saturday, July 10, at 4:30 p.m. before the Baysox play the Trenton Thunder at 6:35 p.m. Rocknoceros will finish the series at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1, before the Baysox take on the New Britain Rock Cats at 6:05 p.m. Tickets for each performance are $10 for all fans ages three and up and include a general admission seat ticket for that night's game.

The Baysox will immortalize a pair of standout players from the 2008 campaign with collectible bobblehead dolls. The team will give away 1,000 bobbling renditions of Orioles right-hander Brad Bergesen to fans ages six and up on Thursday, June 17, as the team takes on the Reading Phillies at 7:05 p.m., courtesy of Optima Services, Inc. The following month, Bowie will give away 1,000 Nolan Reimold bobbleheads to fans ages six and up on Thursday, July 22, courtesy of Madison Interiors. Bergesen was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Year in 2008 and holds the franchise record for most wins in a season (15). Reimold was the last Baysox player to hit three home runs in a game, accomplishing the feat on Sept. 4, 2008, in the playoffs against the Akron Aeros.

For fans who want to travel like a minor league ballplayer, the team will take a busload of fans to Richmond to see the Baysox take on the newest Eastern League franchise when Bowie battles the Flying Squirrels on Sunday, May 2, at 2:05 p.m. The second bus trip brings Baysox fans back to Norfolk as the Orioles Triple-A affiliate takes on the Louisville Bats on Sunday, June 27, at 1:15 p.m. The Baysox hosted a similar bus trip to Norfolk last year. Every Tuesday is Belly Buster Bargain Night at Prince George's Stadium. Fans purchasing a regularly priced lower reserved seat ticket ($14) receive a voucher for a free foot long hotdog, small popcorn and bag of peanuts.
