
Baysox Announce 2007 Promotional Schedule

Bowie, MD - The Bowie Baysox, Class "AA" Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles have unveiled their 2007 promotional schedule, as well as 23 post-game fireworks dates.
Kicking off the 2007 schedule will be our first of two Bark In The Park events, scheduled for Sunday, April 15th, when the Baysox take on the Akron Aeros. The first Bark In The Park event will feature a pre-game Canine Fashion Show and a Canine demo from the Prince George's County Police Department. April will also feature the first date of a new promotion that the Baysox will be doing ever Tuesday home game during the 2007 season. Belly Buster Bargain Nights will highlight every Tuesday and will kick off Tuesday April 17th. With the purchase of a Lower Reserved Seat Ticket ($14), fans will receive a food voucher valid for three BIG pre-selected food items for FREE. There will be nine Belly Buster Tuesday dates throughout the season and is brought to you by The Pennysaver.
The April promotional schedule is topped off with the first of three Meet The Team events of the season, which has become a staple of the promotional calendar. Before the game on Sunday, April 29th, fans will get a chance to meet the players and coaches before the game and get free autographs. The game on Sunday, April 29th will also feature the largest Kids Spring Egg Hunt in the area with over 1,000 eggs being hidden inside the stadium before the game.
May begins with Office Space Night, set for Monday, May 7th and will feature a "nominate your office essay contest" as well smashing technology for charity. A World Record Attempt will conducted on Saturday, May 26th as the Baysox, with help from fans, will attempt to break the World Record for Most People Yo-Yoing at the same time. Dog loving fans can return once again for our second Bark In The Park event on Sunday May 27th. This event will feature a pre-game Stupid Pet Trick Auditions - where we will tape all auditions and send it to The Letterman Show.
June gets kicked off with our Second Annual Pink In The Park promotion on Sunday, June 3rd and will feature a Baysox Pink Visor Giveaway to the first 1,000 female fans ages 6 and up, sponsored by Holy Cross Hospital. Baysox players will once again wear specially designed pink jerseys for this event and the jerseys will be auctioned off during the game with proceeds benefiting the Holy Cross Hospital Breast Center Fund. In 2006, this auction raised over $11,000 for the Fund.
Thursday, June 14th brings our second annual "Army Night" with a special appearance by WWE Superstar "Sergeant Slaughter". The "Sarge" will be on hand to meet fans and sign free autographs and apply his signature hold the "Cobra Clutch" to those who are willing to take the challenge.
Saturday, June 16th features our 6th annual Negro League Tribute Night, with special appearances by former Negro League Players who will be signing free autographs for fans. The tribute night will also include a replica Negro league hat giveaway to the first 1,500 fans ages 6+ and charity jersey auction. The first of our three Baysox To The Big Leagues Bobble Head giveaways comes on Wednesday June 27th featuring former Baysox and current Orioles closer Chris Ray. The first 1,250 fans ages 6 and up will receive this special collectible. June is capped off with the Baysox 1st ever Faith Night with a pre-game concert by National Christian Recording Artists Hawk Nelson, on Thursday, June 28th.
July starts with a bang as the Baysox host a 4th of July Celebration, highlighted by one of the best fireworks spectaculars in the area. The second of three Baysox to The Big Leagues Bobble Head Giveaways comes up on Thursday, July 19th, featuring former Baysox and current Orioles staring pitcher Erik Bedard. The first 1,250 fans ages 6 and up to enter the stadium will receive this limited edition collectible.
The home stretch of the season in August and September features a truly special event on Saturday, August 11th. The Baysox host the first All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Tribute event featuring appearances by seven former AAGPBL Players. The AAGPBL was immortalized in the hit movie "A League of Their Own".
Thursday, August 23rd is the final Baysox To The Big Leagues Bobble Head Giveaway featuring former Baysox and current Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis. The first 1,250 fans ages 6 and up to enter the stadium will receive this special collectible. Fan Appreciation Night is scheduled for Saturday, September 1st and will feature our final Meet The Team event and a Baysox Tote Bag Giveaway to the first 1,250 fans age 6 & up to enter the stadium. The promotional season is capped off with Orioles Pride Night Sunday, September 2nd, featuring a Buy-one-get-one ticket discount to all fans who wear Orioles gear to the game.
The Baysox will also be welcoming their 5 Millionth Fan to the ballpark at some point this season. Who will it be??

One non-game the Baysox will be hosting this year at Prince George's Stadium will be the Sixth Annual Allen Iverson Celebrity Softball Classic, which will be held on Saturday, July 14th and will feature current NBA and NFL stars plus stars from stage, screen and the music scene. More details will be announced on participants in the coming weeks.
