BayHawks Reacquire Temple, Waive Holmes

Erie, Pennsylvania, Thursday, February 17, 2011 - The Erie BayHawks have reacquired guard Garrett Temple today after his second ten-day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks expired on Monday. Temple is en route to Los Angeles to meet up with teammate Ivan Johnson and participate in the annual NBA Development League All-Star Game on Saturday, and both will also be contestants in the Haier Shooting Stars contest on Friday night.

In order to make room on the roster for Temple Erie waived guard Reggie Holmes.

Temple (6-6, 195 lbs) appeared in nine games with the Bucks and averaged 1.9 points in 9.2 minutes per game. He was a key part of a come from behind win against the Atlanta Hawks on January 26 when he played 18 minutes and had eight points, including 2-of-3 shooting from three point range, to go along with three rebounds and three assists in a 98-90 victory.

Prior to joining the Bucks, Temple appeared in nine games with Erie and was averaging 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Temple began the season with the San Antonio Spurs and made three appearances totaling 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, one steal and one block. He then appeared in nine games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers prior to being dealt to Erie in a trade for forward Jeff Adrien.

Temple, 24, earned four 10-day NBA contracts with three teams last season (Houston-2, Sacramento, San Antonio). He then signed with the Spurs for the remainder of the season on March 23.

The fifth-annual NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by SonoSite will follow on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m. ET, at Center Court at NBA Jam Session presented by adidas.
