MOBILE, Ala. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (38-48, 9-7) fell to the Mobile BayBears (33-51, 6-10) by a 4-2 score in the second game of the six-game series at Hank Aaron Stadium on Friday night.

Mobile right-handed relief pitcher Adam Hofacket (3-2) earned the win with three scoreless innings of work. Jacksonville right-handed relief pitcher Tommy Eveld (1-2) took the loss, allowing the go-ahead runs to score in the bottom of the eighth. Mobile right-handed relief pitcher Luis Pena earned his first save with a scoreless ninth inning on the mound.

The BayBears took the game's first lead in the bottom of the second on a two-run double by Julian Leon to lead 2-0. Jacksonville quickly responded in the top of the third with a solo home run by Adrian Nieto to cut the Mobile lead to 2-1. In the top of the fifth Jacksonville tied the game at 2-2 on an RBI groundout by Anfernee Seymour.

With two outs in the bottom of the eighth against Eveld, Erick Salcedo lined a two-RBI single into right field to put Mobile in front 4-2, which would be the final score.

Both starting pitchers had no decisions in the game. BayBears right-handed starter Andrew Wantz turned in five innings where he allowed two runs (both earned) on two hits with four walks and four strikeouts. Jacksonville right-handed starting pitcher Josh Roeder also worked five innings allowing two runs (both earned) on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

The Jumbo Shrimp and BayBears will continue the series with the third game of the six-game set at Hank Aaron Stadium on Saturday night at 8:05 p.m. eastern. Right-handed pitcher Jorge Guzman (4-8, 4.12 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Mobile right-handed pitcher Tyler Carpenter (0-0, 2.78 ERA).
