Mobile BayBears News Release
MONTGOMERY, AL- The Mobile BayBears fell one game short of tying a season high four game winning streak, falling to Montgomery 8-6 at Riverwalk Stadium. Sean Thompson (0-2) was hit hard in the early innings for the second time in as many starts, allowing five earned runs in three innings of work.
Seven of Mobile's starting nine had at least one hit, including a three-run home run by Greg Sain in the top of the fourth inning. The homer was Sain's second of the year, and first since April 10th against Tennessee.
"It felt nice to have the ball bounce off the bat well again," said Sain, who had his second straight multi-hit game. "I think our lineup is hitting a lot better." Tagg Bozied had a two run single in the seventh with the bases loaded. Mobile's other run came on a fielder's choice by Nick Trzesniak.
The BayBears will play the Biscuits Friday-Sunday at Hank Aaron Stadium. All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 59, and on the internet via www.mobilebaybears.com.
