Mobile BayBears News Release

PEARL, Miss. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the Mississippi Braves Wednesday night at Trustmark Park.

Jeremy Beasley (2-2) pitched a career-high seven innings in Mobile's league-high 10th shutout win. He tossed 5 2/3 hitless frames before surrendering a bunt single to break up the no-hit bid. Daniel Procopio retired the side in order in the eighth, and Matt Custred worked around a two-out infield single in the ninth to record his sixth save.

Brendon Sanger provided the only run for the BayBears (49-51 overall, 12-20 second half). On the first pitch of the fifth inning, he slugged a home run into the bullpen in right-center field. Sanger has gone deep in two of his last three games.

Kyle Wright (6-8) took the loss, despite also setting a new career-high with eight innings pitched. He allowed four hits, two walks, and struck out four batters.

It was the shortest nine-inning game time of the season for both teams, lasting just one hour, 54 minutes.

The BayBears continue the five-game road series against Mississippi Thursday at 7:00 p.m. CDT. Right-handed pitcher Alex Klonowski (5-2, 4.74 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against southpaw Ricardo Sanchez (1-3, 5.27 ERA) for the Braves.
