MONTGOMERY, AL- After Tuesday nights game in Montgomery was tied at one run each, the BayBears scored five unanswered runs to beat the Biscuits 6-1. In the fifth inning the BayBears had back-to-back doubles by Matt Lauderdale and Juan Ciriaco. Luis Cruz had a two-run single in the sixth inning, making the score 5-1. Brett Dowdy?s solo home run in the seventh inning gave the BayBears their sixth run.
John Hudgins (4-3) pitched six innings, allowing just one run on five hits for the win. Geoff Jones and Paul Abraham pitched the final three innings without allowing a run. George Kottaras and Ciriaco had two hits each for Mobile. Montgomery first baseman Gabby Martinez was the only Biscuit with two hits.
The BayBears and Biscuits play again Wednesday beginning at 12:00 PM. Jose Oyervidez (2-6) will pitch for Mobile against Montgomery?s Tony Peguero (7-7). All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 18, and on the internet via mobilebaybears.com.
