Battery Set for Dayton Dutch Lions

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery heads to Dayton, OH Saturday for a 7:30 PM USL PRO match versus the Dayton Dutch Lions. The game will be available locally on 1340 AM and via an audio-stream at www.charlestonbattery.com. The Battery (9-6-4) enters the game in third position in the American Division; the Dutch Lions (1-11-5) enter the game in last position in the National Division.

The Battery's last USL PRO game was a 2-1 win versus the Wilmington Hammerheads in a game played at Blackbaud Stadium on July 14. After conceding a goal in the 76th minute Charleston fought back to earn he victory behind goals from Brandon Massie and Dane Kelly.

Charleston Battery head coach Mike Anhaeuser should have a full squad to select from on Saturday with midfielder JC Mack (foot) the only player sidelined through injury.

This is the third and final game of the USL PRO season between the Battery and the Dutch Lions. Charleston defeated Dayton 2-1 in Dayton on April 16 and won 1-0 in Charleston in a game played on June 17.

This is Dayton's first season in USL PRO after previously competing in the USL PDL. The Dutch Lions lost 4-1 to the LA Blues last Sunday after recording a string of three consecutive ties. Dayton's last win (and only win thus far) was on June 4 versus the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

Battery vs Portsmouth FC

Following the game versus Dayton the Battery will return to Blackbaud Stadium on Wednesday, July 27 for an international exhibition match versus England's Portsmouth FC; gates 6:00 PM - kick off 7:45 PM. Portsmouth have been in Charleston for a week as they prepare for the start of the English Championship.
