
Battery concludes pre-season with road test versus Wilmington

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery concludes its preparations for the 2006 USL First Division season Saturday night with a final tune-up match versus the USL2 Wilmington Hammerheads (Legion Field, 6:30 PM). The Battery opens its 2006 campaign at home next Saturday night versus the Virginia Beach Mariners (Saturday, April 29, Blackbaud Stadium, 7:30 PM).
The Battery began pre-season on March 10, since then Charleston has compiled a record of 5 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties. One of the win's came at the expense of MLS's New York Red Bulls (1-0). The Battery also defeated the Rochester Raging Rhinos (2-1) and Jamaican Premier League side, Village United (2-1). The Battery's loss came versus MLS's Houston Dynamo (0-1) in the first game of the 2006 Carolina Challenge Cup.
