The Swamp Bats fell behind to Holyoke early 6-0, and couldn't dig themselves out of the six run hole, eventually falling to the Blue Sox 6-3.
Keene's starting pitcher, Hartford's Brian Hunter, lasted five innings, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
The three runs came on a sacrifice fly in the third and a wild pitch and single in the fifth.
Holyoke tacked on three more in the sixth off of reliever Joe McCarthy on a three run homerun by Justin Morhardt.
Keene would respond though with three of their own in the seventh. After a Dylan Moore, Cyprus College, double and a JP Sportman, Central Connecticut University, walk, Rutger's Brian O'Grady stepped up and launched a three run homer to cut the lead to 6-3. .
Sam Triece, out of Washington State University, came on in the eighth and ninth and held the Blue Sox scoreless for the final two frames of the game, striking out five along the way.
Keene loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth but the Swamp Bats couldn't muster up a comeback and fell to Holyoke 6-3.
The loss drops Keene's record to 5-12, which keeps the Swamp Bats 8 games behind division leader Vermont.
Keene will have a double header on Saturday, as North Adams comes to town to play two seven-inning games at Alumni Field. The first game is slated for a 5:00 p.m. first pitch with the second game expected to be started at 6:30 p.m.
