Ottawa - Can-AM Baseball League Commissioner Miles Wolff is pleased to announce that Barry Robinson has been named the Ottawa Rapids new general manager. Robinson will take on general manager duties immediately, as he leads the Rapids into their second season.

"We are pleased to have Barry Robinson as the Rapids' general manager," said Wolff. "His wealth of experience in management and knowledge of the city make him a great choice to head up the front office."

"Barry brings to the team and operation a tremendous energy level," added Wolff. "He understands the Rapids' commitment to creating a great experience for fans and having a positive impact in the community. The organization will benefit from his passion and leadership."

"I'm extremely honoured to have been chosen as the general manager of the Ottawa Rapids," said Robinson. "I look forward to getting started, and I am optimistic about what the team has to offer both on the field as well as to the community. It will be exciting working with a passionate fan base."

Robinson joins the team with a wealth of management experience, having served the City of Ottawa and the City of Nepean for over 30 years in various management roles. Most recently, Robinson served as director of the City of Ottawa's Real Property Asset Management branch. He is also no stranger to baseball, where his son Fraser, a left-handed pitcher, played for the Rapids in their inaugural season in 2008.
