Philadelphia Barrage News Release
Philadelphia, PA (July 12, 2006) - The Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today a partnership with Peace of Pizza in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania for the remainder of the 2006 season.
Going into the second year of Peace of Pizza being the supplier of the post-game meal, both organizations decided to join together in a way that would benefit both. Peace of Pizza will set-up a tent in the Barrage Fun Zone for the remainder of the season, where they will be selling slices of pizza to the fans. In exchange, Peace of Pizza will supply the home and away teams with a total of 15 pies after each game.
Peace A Pizza is proud to join with Philadelphia's own professional lacrosse team, The Barrage, for the 2006 season.
"We look forward to getting our product and our name in front a large audience," said Joe Leggio, one of the three owners of Peace A Pizza, "What better way than with Philly's own Barrage?"
Peace A Pizza has been revolutionizing gourmet pizza since 1996. Along with Pete Howey and Aaron Nocks, Joe Leggio started the pizza shop in a humble basement storefront across from the R5 train station in Ardmore, PA. Ten years later, the chain has grown to eleven restaurants. With three franchisees on board, Peace A Pizza is looking to gain more ground. Two new restaurants in Florida, and another in Willow Grove, opened this past spring. "Watch out! Your hometown could be next!" Jokes long time employee, Jane Fuchs. Feeding the hungry Barrage fans and team players will be a challenge, but Joe Leggio and his army of pizza makers are confident they can get the job done.
Philadelphia returns home to Villanova on July 20 for a rematch game with the Long Island Lizards. Face off is set for 7:30 p.m. Individual tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 215-336-2000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Group tickets for 10 or more are available by calling the Barrage ticket office at 610-355-8164.
