Jacksonville Barracudas News Release
The Jacksonville Barracudas announce today that they have signed forwards Chad Peck and Taras Foremsky to contracts for the 2005-2006 season.
Jacksonville hockey fans will remember the 6-foot-2, 220-pound Peck, as he played briefly for the Barracudas in 2002-2003. Last season he was a star for the Fayetteville FireAntz, scoring 18 times and picking up 30 assists in just 32 games. He began this season with the Quad-City Mallards of the United Hockey League.
Foremsky also started the season in the United Hockey League, only with the Flint Generals. Last season he scored 10 goals and 12 assists for the Torino Bulls in Italy. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Canadian is expected to add to the Barracudas' toughness and grit on the front line.
Defenseman Greg Capson will be activated as well for Tuesday night's game against the Pee Dee Cyclones, replacing injured defenseman Dan Hickman. Hickman broke his jaw in a game this Saturday against the Cyclones, and is expected to be out up to eight weeks.
To make room for the signed players, the Barracudas have released Jake Laime and Ron Miller.
