Barons Unveil Game Schedule for 2014 Season

Birmingham, AL - With the release of the 2014 Southern League schedule, the Barons will look to build on a record-setting inaugural season at Regions Field that saw them welcome over 395,000 fans, a Southern League record for the opening season of a new ballpark, while being named Ballpark of the Year by Ballpark Digest.

As in years past, the majority of games will begin at 7:05 p.m. with the exception being weekend and select weekday games. The Barons will continue to play their Saturday night games at 6:30 p.m. while all Sunday games will again be played at 3:00 p.m.

Returning for the 2013 season will be the "Business Person Special" for Monday home games during the first half of the season. Monday games in April, May and June will begin at 11:30 a.m. allowing fans the opportunity to catch an afternoon baseball matinee during their lunch hour.

Three early-season Wednesday games will feature midday start times: April 23, May 14, and June 23 are all scheduled for first pitch at 11:00 a.m.

For the second year in a row, the Barons will celebrate Independence Day in Birmingham when they take on the Tennessee Smokies at 6:00 p.m. Following the conclusion of the game, fans will have the opportunity to watch the 'Thunder on the Mountain' fireworks show from one of the best downtown venues in the city.

The regular season will conclude on Labor Day Monday, September 1, with a 12:30 p.m. contest against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.
