Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons rallied to send their series finale with the Montgomery Biscuits to extra-innings but couldn't finish off the comeback, falling by a score of 5-4 Sunday afternoon in front of 1,722 fans at Regions Park.

The Biscuits stuck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the third on a solo home run by Kyeong Kang. The homer was the 12th of the season for Kang and second against the Barons.

The Barons would come back to take a 3-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning on a two-out bases clearing double by Andy Wilkins.

Petricka would allow just two runs in 6.0 solid innings as the Biscuits could muster just four hits against the righty in his first start since being promoted from Class A Winston-Salem on Saturday.

Clinging to a 3-2 lead in the eighth, the Biscuits would load the bases for Michael Sheridan who sent a chopper to first baseman Seth Loman. Loman fielded the ball but his throw home sailed over the head of catcher Damaso Espino allowing Ty Morrison to score from third. The next batter, Brad Coon, worked a walk against reliever Santos Rodriguez to force home the go-ahead run.

Trailing 4-3, the Barons would rally in the ninth, as pinch-hitter Luis Sierra delivered an opposite field RBI single with two outs to tie the game at 4-4.

The Biscuits would score the eventual winning run in the 10th on a two-out RBI single by Brad Coon against reliever Nevin Griffith (1-1, 4.34). With the loss, the Barons fall to 44-55 on the season and 14-16 in the second half while Montgomery improves to 54-44 and 18-12 in the second half.

After an off day, the Barons will head to Chattanooga to take on the Lookouts in a five-game series starting Tuesday. In game one, RHP Cameron Bayne (7-9, 6.37) takes the hill against RHP Matt Magill (8-4, 4.06). First pitch is scheduled for 6:15 PM CDT.
