Barons get sneak peek at schedule
June 10, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Oklahoma City Barons News Release
Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League received a sneak peek at their schedule with the release of five additional home dates for their 2010-11 campaign.
In addition to the previously released date for the home opener October 9, the Barons will play home games November 5 - 6, December 17 - 18 and January 9. The AHL gives each of their member clubs six guaranteed home dates in advance of the release of the complete schedule. Opponents for these dates are not known until the release of the complete schedule later this summer.
"Learning of these six dates in advance is unique," said Prodigal LLC owner Robert Funk Jr. "This gives our staff the opportunity to target groups for specific nights well in advance of the release of the schedule."
Oklahoma City's newest hockey team will play in the American Hockey League. The AHL, currently completing its 74th season of play, serves as the primary developmental league for all 30 NHL teams. Over 85 percent of players currently playing in the NHL are graduates of the AHL. The AHL is played in major North American cities such as Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, Austin, Cleveland, Milwaukee and Charlotte.
Season tickets are available for the 10-11 season by calling 232-GOAL (4625) or by visiting the Barons website at okcbarons.com.
