Barnstormers Announce 10th Anniversary Season Schedule

October 1, 2013 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Lancaster Stormers News Release

The Lancaster Barnstormers will open the gates at Clipper Magazine Stadium for their 10th Anniversary Season on Thursday, May 1, it was announced earlier today by the Atlantic League.

The archrival York Revolution will cross the Route 30 bridge to take on the Barnstormers for just that one evening as the Barnstormers look to begin their efforts to retrieve the Community Cup from the Revs. Somerset will come to Lancaster the following night to meet the Barnstormers in a four-game weekend series.

"We are excited to start talking about 2014, the tenth season at Clipper Magazine Stadium," said General Manager Kristen Simon. "Now that we have the schedule, we can start locking in the community groups, theme nights, entertainment and other activities that make each of our 70 game nights at Clipper Magazine Stadium such a fantastic experience. Since the 2014 season will mark the special milestone of 10 years of baseball in Lancaster, we're busier than ever reaching out to our audience of corporate and community partners."

Prior to the home opener, the Barnstormers will travel to Sugar Land, TX to launch the season with a four-game set at Sugar Land, TX. Following a travel day on April 28, Lancaster will open the 2014 War of the Roses with a pair of games in York to finish April.

Once the Barnstormers reach home, there will be a tremendous opportunity to watch the Barnstormers at Clipper Magazine Stadium, playing 20 home games in May, their busiest month. The School Spirit Program, one of the Barnstormers most successful community outreaches, will be in full swing during this action-filled stretch.

An especially meaningful May date is the 11th, when the Barnstormers host the Long Island Ducks on the anniversary of the first game ever played at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

In 2014, Barnstormers fans will be able to enjoy even more weekend baseball than most seasons as the local squad will host Atlantic League clubs on 36 weekend (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) dates over the course of the season, three more than in 2013.

One of those weekends promises to be extraordinarily special as the Barnstormers will be home the entire Fourth of July weekend against York.

Each of the seven Atlantic League opponents will visit Lancaster 10 times during 2014.

Game times and promotional events will be announced at a later time. Please reference the attached schedule for a complete listing of home and away games.

The Lancaster Barnstormers are entering their tenth season as a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Home games are played at Clipper Magazine Stadium in downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Please call 717.509.HITS (4487) or visit LancasterBarnstormers.com for more information.
