Chicago Bandits News Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits, in partnership with USA Softball, released Friday morning a schedule for exhibition games between the Women's National Team and the Bandits and USSSA Pride of National Pro Fastpitch.
The Bandits are set to host the National Team's training stop from June 10-16 at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois, and will compete against the National Team in a trio of exhibition games. The first will take place at 4 p.m. CT on June 14, followed by a 7 p.m. matchup the next day. The series concludes with a Sunday matinee scheduled for 2 p.m. June 16.
The USSSA Pride will also play the Women's National Team in a pair of matchups slated for June 14-15.
"We are thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to not only host the U.S. Women's National Team for its training camp, but to compete against world-class talent here in Rosemont," Bandits general manager Toni Calmeyn said. "We look forward to showcasing a high level of competition throughout the five exhibition games and providing fans with an incredible opportunity to enjoy the premier talent the Bandits, Pride and National Team boast."
The Bandits and USA Softball announced an agreement in November 2018, which allows the Women's National Team to utilize the facilities at Parkway Bank Sports Complex throughout the duration of its training stop, including the ballpark and dome, in preparation for international competition.
"What a great opportunity to catch Team USA in action," USA Softball CEO Craig Cress said. "As the excitement continues to grow for softball's return to the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, we hope that fans in the Chicago area will come out to watch our Women's National Team and two of the top teams in the NPF. We are grateful to the Village of Rosemont for providing an excellent training environment for our Women's National Team. We also want to thank the Chicago Bandits and USSSA Pride as these five exhibition games will deliver quality competition as we prepare for the 2019 season."
