Chicago Bandits News Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits announced today that they will host the top high school softball players in the Chicagoland area on Tuesday, June 16 at the Ballpark at Rosemont in a pair of all-star games.
The first game will feature all-stars from McHenry County and DuPage County with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. The second game of the night will feature Cook County vs. Lake County All-Stars at 8 p.m.
"The Bandits are very excited to be able to host a pair of high school all-star games this summer," said Bandits General Manager Aaron M. Moore. "Our high school events have been very well received since our first day in Rosemont and we're looking forward to having some of the top players in the area participate in the game.
"This is a great opportunity for a lot of schools to be represented and a chance for almost 100 players to play in the greatest stadium for fastpitch softball."
A selection committee comprised of a coaches panel and Bandits staff will select 22 players per county for the all-star game, with no more than one player from each high school within the county represented.
Teams will be coached by Bandits players and a selected coach from each respective county.
Parents, coaches, administrators and fellow students can nominate a softball player from their school for the all-star game. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, June 5 at 5 p.m.
