Chicago Bandits News Release

Kissimmee, FL - For the second straight night, Chicago Bandits rookie catcher Jamie Schloredt came through in the clutch, blasting a two run homerun deep to centerfield off USSSA Pride pitcher Monica Abbott (1-3) to put the Bandits (14-3) up 3-1 in the top of the 12th inning.

Bandits' pitcher Brandice Balschmiter (2-0) closed things out in the bottom half of the 12th inning, earning the victory over the USSSA Pride (3-10).

With Ashley Carlson on third and Kristie Fox on first in the top of the fourth, Bandits' rightfielder Nicole Trimboli blasted an RBI single through the right side of the infield to give the Bandits a 1-0 lead.

Following the run, USSSA Pride's Abbott buckled down in the circle to force a pitching duel with Bandits' ace Kristina Thorson. Both would go back and forth with 1-2-3 innings until the bottom of the seventh.

In the bottom of the seventh Thorson put Shannon Doepking on base after an errant pitch drilled her in the back. Two batters later, LaDonia Hughes smacked a single to left field, scoring Doepking to tie the game up at 1-1.

Extra innings was required for the second night in a row, and five innings in Schloredt blasted Abbott to claim the lead. The two teams continue their series tomorrow at USSSA Pride Park with the first pitch being thrown at 7:05 ET. Visit WWW.USSSAPride.Com to view the game live.
