Bandits Legend Finch to Compete on Dancing with the Stars
ROSEMONT, IL - Former Chicago Bandits pitcher and two-time Olympic medalist Jennie Finch will compete on the nationally-renowned Dancing with the Stars: Athletes series, as announced Friday on Good Morning America.
Finch, who played for the Bandits from 2005-10, will vie for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy on the show's 26th season alongside professional dancer Keo Motsepe.
"So excited for this adventure! Let's do this @keodancer," Finch said via her Twitter account (@JennieFinch).
Finch, now 37 and a mother of three, became one of the most decorated players in NPF history during her time with the Bandits. She posted a staggering 0.11 ERA during the 2007 season and went to guide the team to a regular-season championship in the 2010 campaign.
Finch's No. 27 was retired by the Bandits on June 9, 2012 and she has remained involved with the franchise as an NPF board advisor.
Other participants on the abbreviated four-week show include NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Olympic figure skaters Adam Rippon and Tonya Harding, former Boston Red Sox outfielder Johnny Damon and Pro Bowl cornerback Josh Norman.
Season 26 of Dancing with the Stars premieres at 7 p.m. April 30 on ABC.
The four-time Cowles Cup champion Chicago Bandits will be back at The Ballpark at Rosemont for the 2018 season. For more information about the Chicago Bandits or to reserve your season tickets, please visit chicagobandits.com or call the box office at 877-722-6348.
