Bandits Down Toronto in Scrimmage

BUFFALO, NY (December 30, 2005) --- The Buffalo Bandits defeated the Toronto Rock 15-13 in a preseason scrimmage behind four goals from Mark Steenhuis at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations, Ontario on Wednesday night.

Steenhuis led the Bandits with four goals, while Delby Powless and Kim Squire had two goals apiece. Steve Dietrich, Ryan Avery, and Mike Poulin shared time in the Bandits net, with Poulin earning the win as Delby Powless scored the game-winner with 2:42 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operation David Zygaj announced that the team is holding an open practice at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations, Ontario, approximately one hour away from Buffalo, on Saturday, January 7. The team will take the floor for an open practice at 12 noon for approximately two hours, after which fans will be able to meet their favorite Bandits players, and Bandits season tickets will be available at the Powless Lacrosse Store inside the Arena.

The Bandits open the 2006 season on the road when they visit the defending NLL Champion Toronto Rock on January 13. One week later, the Bandits host the Rock in their home opener at HSBC Arena on January 21 at 7:30 pm.
