Bandits Break Single-Game Run Record in Sweep of Eagles

Emily Carosone, Gwen Svekis and Sammy Marshall launched home runs in the 21-0 rout as part of a 23-hit attack. Svekis, who earlier in the game recorded her first career hit, belted her first career long ball in the third.

Carosone's three-run homer in the opening frame marked her ninth of the season. She picked up her league-high 10th of the campaign to open up scoring in a 6-4 victory in Game 2.

Eleven different Bandits players registered hits in the Game 1 win, including five from standout rookie right fielder Jessie Scroggins. The Baylor product added three triples and scored four times to earn Vaultz Lock It Up! Player of the Game honors.

Beijing southpaw Angel Bunner (L, 4-9) suffered the loss after she surrendered a pair of runs in two-thirds of an inning. Eagles reliever Gu Niannian took the brunt of the damage and allowed 13 runs across three innings.

Aleshia Ocasio (W, 2-0) picked up the victory for the Bandits. The rookie right-hander from Florida scattered four hits in four innings of work and struck out three.

Haylie Wagner (2.0 IP) and Lacey Waldrop (1.0 IP) appeared in relief for the Bandits to close out the victory.

Wagner's success continued into the nightcap as the veteran southpaw earned her first save of the season. Second-year right-hander Coley Ries (W, 6-0) continued to excel in the circle to collect her team-high sixth win of the campaign in a relief effort. She did not allow a run in two innings.

Ries and Wagner's steady presences in the circle helped guide the Bandits to a come-from-behind victory after Beijing briefly took a 4-2 lead thanks to a bases-clearing triple off the bat of Xie Jiaxin.

The Eagles held the two-run advantage into fifth until a two-RBI single from veteran third baseman Stacy May-Johnson evened the score and Marshall's RBI groundout put the Bandits ahead for good.

Rookie right-hander Emily Watson (L, 2-4) was saddled with the loss for Beijing after the former South Alabama standout surrendered all six runs across six innings.

The Bandits will be back in action at 7:30 p.m. July 20 as they begin at two-game set against the Cleveland Comets at Parkway Bank Sports Complex.
