Buffalo, NY (January 6, 2006) - The Buffalo Bandits announced today they have reached a radio affiliation agreement with WKBW-AM 1520 to be their broadcast home for the 2006 season. The station will provide live coverage for all 16 regular season contests and all postseason games.

WKBW-AM 1520 is a 50,000-watt Entercom-owned station out of Buffalo. For the third consecutive season John Gurtler will handle the play-by-play duties, while former Bandit Randy Mearns will provide the color commentary.

"It's great to be partnered with a powerful station like WKBW, with a signal that reaches well into Canada and all of New York State," said Bandits' Director of Lacrosse Operations David Zygaj. "John Gurtler is a great talent, and he's paired with Randy Mearns, an ex-NLL star who provides in-depth insight into the game."

"The deal between WKBW and the Bandits gives WKBW a chance to reach new fans and to be at the center of all the Bandits action," said Greg Ried, General Manager of Entercom Radio.

The Bandits will open the 2006 season against the Toronto Rock at the HSBC Arena on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at 7:30 PM. Ticket packages are available by calling the Buffalo Bandits Ticket Office at 1-888-467-2273, or fans can purchase packages at the HSBC Arena Box Office or any Tickets.com locations.
