Bandits Acquire Edwards Sisters in Four Player Trade with Rebellion

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits announced today that they have traded Megan Wiggins and Andi Williamson to the Pennsylvania Rebellion in exchange for twin sisters Tatum and Taylor Edwards.

"We are very excited about adding both Tatum and Taylor to our lineup," said Bandits GM Aaron M. Moore. "We had both players graded high on our draft list last spring and we were disappointed we missed out on them.

"We're looking forward to having them in a Bandits uniform this summer."

Taylor Edwards, who like her sister played her college ball at Nebraska, saw most of her playing time behind the plate for the Rebellion. She played in 32 games and had a .241 batting average. She had three home runs on the year and drove in 13. While at Nebraska, Taylor was a two-time All-American. Edwards ended her career with 17 school records and a pair of NCAA records. She set Nebraska career records with 54 home runs, four grand slams, 150 walks and 39 hit-by-pitches.

Tatum Edwards was a four-time All Conference and two-time NFCA All-American player at Nebraska. She was the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year in 2013; the same season she won 30 games in the circle and blasted 11 home runs. As a rookie with the Rebellion, Tatum was 1-3 in the circle in 30 innings pitched.

"It's tough to deal such great players like Megan and Andi," added Moore. "They both have meant a lot to our organization in recent seasons and we're thankful for their contributions, not only to the Bandits, but also the NPF. We wish them nothing but success in the future."

The Bandits home opener is set for Thursday, June 4 when the Bandits host the Akron Racers at The Ballpark at Rosemont. Single-game tickets for all 2015 home games, including the home opener, will go on sale Monday, February 16 at 10 a.m. CT.
