Baltimore Pearl and Maryland Nighthawks to scrimmage
September 27, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Baltimore Pearls News Release
Baltimore, MD. Roderick Turner, GM/Head Coach of the ABA Baltimore Pearls professional basketball team today announced that his team would hold a scrimmage with the strong Maryland Nighthawks team. The scrimmage will be held at the Boys and Girls Club located at 1100 E. Fayette Street in Baltimore, Maryland. According to Coach Turner, "We are very pleased to be going against a team that made it to the ABA playoffs last year. Coming off my 5th straight NIKE PRO CITY Championship this summer with some of the players that are trying out for the Pearls makes my job a little easier because half of the team knows what I expect on and off the court."
The scrimmage is free to the public. Sam Cassel of the NBA L.A. Clippers, a Baltimore native and a Pearls sponsor, will be in attendance. For more information about the game, contact Coach Turner at rturner4hoops@hotmail.com or visit www.abalive.com. -
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
