
Baltimore broadcaster joins ABA team ownership group

Baltimore, MD. Â Melvin Coles, Co-owner of the ABA 2005 Baltimore, Maryland expansion team, today announced that Kibwe Bey, affectionately called "Brother Bey" has joined the ownership group of the professional basketball team that will begin play in November. Â
Bey is owner of De Place: Institute of Healing and Happiness in Washington, DC and is known as a radio personality for 1450 WOL-AM, a Radio One station and serves as a commentator for the weekly health talk show. He has a long and distinguished career in health, nutrition and healing and has served as Director of Howard University's Natural Food Deli, Food Manager of Chef Yours National Coordination, Baking Chef of the Spruce Tree natural food bakery, Health Coordinator of the training camp of former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe and as the Nutritional Counselor and Chef at Dick Gregory's Health Resort and has appeared on CBS 60 Minutes with Ed Bradley.
"Brother Bey" has concentrated his career to helping people understand how to maintain good health and rid the body of unhealthy poundage through nutritious eating habits and have provide guidance to the singing group Earth, Wind and Fire as well as DC Mayor Marion Barry, actor Denzel Washington, comedian Sinbad, singers Jennifer Holiday and Chaka Kahn as well as Jacqueline Jackson, wife of Jesse Jackson.
Coles stated, "Having a person of Kibwe's background and skills as part of Franchise Acquisition Corp in Baltimore is very important to us; he is knowledgeable, experienced, well-connected and passionate about what he does. He'll bring all of these qualities and more to our team. Â A great addition."
Brother Bey attended Virginia State University where he received a BS in Sociology and an MA in Counseling and Rehabilitation from Coppin State University. A former US Marine and a All American football player, he lives by the motto: "God will forgive you for what you do to your body, but your body won't."
