Blast Improves to 9-9 after weekend sweep over the KiXX:

The Blast swept the Philadelphia KiXX last weekend in the home-and-home series between the clubs. Friday night the teams faced off at 1st Mariner Arena, with Machel Millwood's hat trick leading the Blast to a 19-12 win over the KiXX. The following night in Philadelphia, the Blast earned a 16-8 victory in Philadelphia. The two wins moved the Blast into a tie for fourth place in the MISL and gave the team a .500 record for the first time since mid-December.

Sagu and Lee Tschantret Earn MISL Weekly Honors; Tschantret Records 1,000th Career Point:

Blast goalkeeper Sagu was named MISL Goalkeeper of the Week after his back-to-back wins over the Philadelphia KiXX this weekend and defender Lee Tschantret was named MISL Defender of the Week for his performance in the two wins. Sagu, a five-year veteran of the MISL, gave up just nine goals over the weekend and turned away 14 of the 23 shots he faced. He has

A 7-6 record on the season and ranks second in the League with a .733 save percentage and third in the MISL with a 10.74 goals against average. This is Sagu's third Player of the Week selection this season.

Lee Tschantret, a 16-year veteran of professional indoor soccer, recently took on a defensive role with the Blast after playing the majority of his career as an offensive player. From his defensive position, Tschantret recorded one goal, two assists and two blocks this weekend. His assist in Friday night's 19-12 win was the 1,000th point of his career. He became just the 14th player in League history to record 1,000 points. Saturday night he recorded one goal (a penalty kick) and one assist in the Blast's 16-8 victory. He has 15 points (four two-point goals and seven assists) and 16 blocks this season.

Milwaukee's Greg Howes and California's Aaron Susi were named Co-Offensive Players of the Week.

Baltimore vs. Milwaukee:

The Blast (9-9) are off this weekend and will play a home-and-home series next weekend against the Milwaukee Wave. The weekend will start with a 7:35 p.m. game on Saturday, February 17th at 1st Mariner Arena and will end Sunday, the 18th with a 2 p.m. game in Milwaukee. The Blast and Wave have the most heated rivalry in the MISL and have faced each other in the postseason in four of the last five seasons. So far this season, the Wave leads the season series, 2-1.
