Bridgeport Bluefish News Release
Bridgeport, CT - August 29th - As school gets back into session around the country, Governor M. Jodi Rell has asked Connecticut residents, businesses, and schools to donate nurses' supplies to help Gulf Coast schools affected by Hurricane Katrina to restock their school nurses' offices for the beginning of the school year.
With local armories closed this weekend, Governor Rell has chosen the Ballpark at Harbor Yard, with its convenient location, as a collection site. The Bridgeport Bluefish are proud to assist in collecting school nurses' supplies that will be used to replenish those that were depleted in Gulf Area schools after Hurricane Katrina.
The list of supplies needed by school nurses include the following: new, unopened boxes of band-aids (assorted sizes); calamine lotion; cotton balls; dental floss; flashlights and batteries; gauze and gauze rollers; Kleenex; gloves; Q-tips; liquid soap in a pump; adhesive tape; thermometers; tongue depressors; and tweezers.
All contributors who donate an item with a five dollar value or more will receive a voucher good for a loge seat to any Bluefish game in September. Collection will take place Saturday September 2nd from 10a.m. to 8p.m. and Sunday the 3rd from 11:30 a.m. to 3p.m.
The Bluefish have games on both dates starting at 7:05p.m. on Saturday, and 1:35p.m. on Sunday. For more information on how to donate call 203-345-4800 ext. 125. Tickets to all home games are available at the Bridgeport Bluefish box office on 500 Main Street in Bridgeport, CT (203-345-4800 ext. 150), or via the website at www.bridgeportbluefish.com.
