Tuesday's game versus Newark postponed

(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 29, 2006) - Tonight's game versus the Newark Bears has been postponed due to inclement weather, field conditions and forecasted weather. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday, August 31 beginning at 6:05 p.m. The doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning games, with the second game starting approximately 20-25 minutes following the first. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

Tonight's tickets are good for Thursday or any other 2006 regular season game. Tickets must be exchanged at the Citibank Park Box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value.

On Wednesday, Pat Ahearne (10-3) will take the hill against Newark's Carlos Mirabal (4-3). Following the contest Bob Venero Children's Foundation will present a post-game Grucci Fireworks Extravaganza. Tonight's B-103 and Bank of America's golf towel giveaway has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 13 at 7:05 p.m. when the Ducks take on the Camden Riversharks.

The Long Island Ducks are in their seventh season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
