
Badal Named Star of the Week

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights forward Jacob Badal has been named the North American Hockey League's East Division Star of the Week.
Badal receives the honor after helping the Knights secure two wins over the Maryland Black Bears this past weekend. The 17-year-old rookie notched two goals and four points in a pair of games against Maryland, extending his point streak to four consecutive contests.
"Jacob is a really high performing forward that has made the adjustment to junior hockey very well the past month," said NAHL Knights Head Coach and General Manager Tom Kowal. "He really prides himself on being the best player on the ice every game and making the right play each shift."
Over the past month-plus, Badal has performed at over a point per game pace. Since October 26th, Badal has registered 13 points
(7G-6A) in 12 games for the grey and blue. With points in four straight, the Western Michigan University commitment has propelled Wilkes-Barre to winning three of those games, helping the club climb back into playoff position.
After a tough start to his first year in juniors, the Flushing, MI native has made the adjustments from then versus now.
"I'm just getting comfortable with speed of play and adjusting my game around it," said Badal when talking abound the transition from youth to junior hockey. "I've found ways to create more offense around the net."
With 18 points in 25 games, Badal now sits second on his club in scoring. Born in October of 2001, Badal is the youngest player on the Knights' NAHL team.
