The B-Sens kicked off their 2009-10 American Hockey League season with a 5-3 victory over the Atlantic Division's Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday Oct. 3 in front of a hometown crowd of 3,927. Center Martin St. Pierre netted an opening night hat trick, and tallied an assist for four points earning himself a nomination for the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week. St. Pierre's line mate Ryan Keller registered a goal and an assist for a two point night, while resident tough-guy Jeremy Yablonski added a goal of his own. Goaltender Mike Brodeur turned away 25 of 28 shots faced between the pipes for the win.
Record: 1-0-0-0
Standings: The B-Sens are currently tied with Hershey and Wilkes-Barre for first in the East (2 points).
THIS WEEK...
Binghamton faces their first weekend of back-to-back games in the 2009-10 season, as they gear up to face two East Division rivals.
Friday, Oct. 9 vs. Syracuse Crunch (Columbus Blue Jackets)
After splitting their pre-season series, 1-1, the B-Sens face the Syracuse Crunch for the first of ten games between the two teams regular season action. The B-Sens have an all-time record of 31-23-2 versus the Crunch.
Promotions: Friday's game is Fire Safety Night with the B-Sens. Sentry Alarms will be on hand to provide fire hats for all children in attendance.
Saturday, Oct. 10 vs. Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals)
The defending Calder Cup champion Bears make their first trip to the Arena for the 2009-10 season. B-Sens fans will recognize a couple names in the line-up for the Bears. Center Alexandre Giroux spent two seasons with the Binghamton Senators (2002-03 to 2003-04) appearing in 126 games, while defenseman

Greg Amadio skated for the B-Sens in 50 games in the 2007-08 season. Although the Bears have the upper hand on the B-Sens in overall all-time standings, Binghamton is 13-10-1 when playing the Bears on home-ice.
Promotions: Fans in attendance will receive a treat courtesy of Fisher Nuts, while B-Sens will host their annual Season Ticket Holder Party immediately following the game.
SENS SNIPPETS...
Martin St. Pierre's hat trick and four point performance opening night, was the first since February 27, 2009, when current Ottawa Senators forward Peter Regin scored a hat trick and registered four points versus Hershey at the Arena.
Three B-Sens made their professional debuts Saturday versus the Wolf Pack; forwards Erik Condra and Keegan Dansereau, and defenseman Craig Schira.
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY...
Tuesday, Oct. 6 - 5th Annual Binghamton Senators Charity Golf Classic
Traditions at the Glen, Johnson City, N.Y.
Binghamton Senators players and coaches will take part in their annual golf outing to benefit the Family Enrichment Network Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Traditions at the Glen. Registration begins at 10 a.m., with a shotgun start scheduled for noon. The golf outing is a captain and crew style tournament, with a Binghamton Senators' player assigned to each foursome. To date, the tournament has raised over $65,000. Money raised at the event will help continue to fund programs and supportive services targeted towards the optimal development of children and families in the Broome County community.
