
B.C. Lions secure number one spot

The BC Lions have secured the top spot in the CFL's Western Division and will be hosting "The Scotiabank West Championship" on November 20th at BC Place. Tickets for the game are going fast and a big crowd is expected at the dome. Defensive End, Brent Johnson will be the lone BC Lions representative at the 2005 Rogers Player Awards. Brent has been selected as the Western Division's finalist for the Outstanding Canadian Player Award where he will be up against the Eastern Division finalist, Kevin Eiben, a Vancouver native and current linebacker for the Toronto Argonauts. Johnson lead the league in quarterback sacks with sixteen.
The "Rogers CFL Player Awards" will be held during Grey Cup Week on Thursday, November 24^th at the Centre for Performing Arts. This annual event recognizes the very best athletic talent the CFL has to offer and is the pinnacle of achievement in the Canadian Football League.
The event will be broadcasted live nationally on TSN and will attract a sell out audience of 1,800 people. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster at a cost of $125, $65 and $55 plus service charges.
