Austin Aztex News Release

AUSTIN, Texas (Thursday, January 22, 2015) - The Austin Aztex announced they have signed Serbian-born Canadian midfielder Mozesh "Mozzi" Gyorio for the 2015 USL PRO campaign. Gyorio comes to the Aztex with an impressive resume of playing experience, more recently from playing for Minnesota United FC from the North American Soccer League.

"Mozzi is a player I've known for many years since my days coaching in the Houston Dynamo academy," Head Coach Paul Dalglish said. "I also saw him sign his first professional contract in Tampa. I know him inside and out, he is one of the most of talented players I've worked with and I'm excited to work with him once more."

Raised in Stratford, Canada, the 25-year-old forward brings versatility and experience to the Aztex offense. He played in the Houston Dynamo Academy in 2009, scoring seven goals and adding six assists to his record. Later that year, Gyorio represented Canada in the Francophone games held in Lebanon, which earned him a spot in the Canadian U-20 National Team roster.

In 2010, he was signed by FC Tampa Bay of the NASL, where he saw action in 43 matches and notched four goals. After two seasons, the 5-feet-11-inches tall striker went oversess to England and played for Fleetwood Town from the English League Two. Gyorio came back to the United States to play in NASL in the 2014 spring and fall seasons with Minnesota United FC to bolster their attack and helped them claim the first and second place in consecutive regular seasons, while also reaching the NASL semifinals in one occasion.

The signing of Gyorio brings the Aztex roster to 13 players, with the coaching staff still looking to put the finishing touches on the squad. The squad will kick off their preseason when the Aztex face Major League Soccer's D.C. United in the ATX PRO Challenge, a four-team tournament featuring MLS Squads D.C. United, Columbus Crew SC, and FC Dallas. For more information on the ATX Pro Challenge, visit www.austinaztex.com/atxprochallenge.
