AUSTIN, Texas (Tuesday, April 28, 2015) - Austin Aztex goalkeeper Cody Laurendi made a strong showing in his home debut Saturday evening for the Aztex and was named to the USL Team of the Week for his efforts. Laurendi is the first Aztex player to be named to the Team of the Week for the 2015 season.

Laurendi came up with five saves in the Aztex 1-0 shutout victory over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks Saturday evening at House Park. Aztex forward Kris Tyrpak, the lone goal scorer in the victory, was named as an honorable mention for the Team of the Week.

"It is nice to be recognized, but at the same time we have moved forward and our focus is now on putting our best efforts into the match against OKC Energy FC," Laurendi said.

Portland Timbers 2 forward Kharlton Belmar has been voted the USL Player of the Week for the sixth week of the 2015 season after he scored a pair of goals to lead his side to victory against Arizona United SC on Saturday night.

Belmar earned 69 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. Richmond Kickers forward Brian Ownby finished second with 13 percent.
