Avista And Indians Team Up To Benefit Project Share

SPOKANE, WA â The Spokane Indians and Avista Corporation teamed up during the 2004 season in the Avista Saves promotion with the Indians. For each save that Indians pitchers recorded during the season, Avista graciously donated $100 to Project Share. Thanks to the stellar pitching of the Indians bullpen, the Indians tallied 17 saves on the season, amounting to a total donation from Avista of $1,700 to Project Share.
"We are extremely pleased to have been able to team up with Avista once again to benefit a great cause," said Indians President Andy Billig. "Avista continues to shine as a great community partner for the Spokane area and we are proud to be affiliated with them."
Project Share is a local emergency energy assistance fund that aids those who need assistance in paying for heating bills during the cold winter months. Project Share was established to provide emergency energy assistance to those who are not eligible for, or who have exhausted, all other available energy assistance sources.
"Our contributions to Project Share represent Avista's ongoing commitment to our communities and our customers, especially those who find themselves in difficult circumstances," said Scott Morris, Avista Utilities president. "Avista will continue to focus on providing support to community programs that offer energy assistance. Through programs like Project Share, Avista provides more than just energy to our customers."
Earlier this month, Avista contributed $200,000 to Project Share, with the contribution made to Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs and other community action agencies in Avista's Washington and Idaho service areas.
