Coastal Bend Aviators News Release
ROBSTOWN, Texas -The Coastal Bend lost the second game of their seven game home stand. Five games remain with two against the Pensacola Pelicans before the Shreveport Sports visit Fairgrounds Field.
Elliott Shaw picked up his seventh loss of the season to no fault of his own. A fine pitching performance was negated as he received no run support from the Aviator bats. Shaw pitched seven strong innings scattering three hits and two runs, of which only one was earned.
The Aviators out hit Pensacola six hits to four, stranding nine base runners. The Coastal Bend left runners in scoring position in the third, fifth and seventh innings. The inability to produce runs in scoring opportunities, once again, resulted in a loss.
Kevin Henry provided the only highlight of the night as he continues to elevate his batting average, going 2-4 at the plate. Batting 417 over the last ten games, he has raised his average to .269 on the season.
Dan Henderson, the former Calallen Wildcat product, will make his second consecutive start. Henderson brings in a 3-3 record, with a 3.86 ERA. He has filled in nicely assuming the fourth spot in the pitching rotation.
Join us tomorrow for the Myndfields and the Chilli Funk Horn Band's performance after the game. Tickets are available through the Aviator's website, www.aviatorsbaseball.com or call (361) 387-8585. All games are broadcast on KCCT 1150 AM, and the Aviators website.
