Aviators- Dillas game rained out
June 25, 2004 - Central Baseball League (Central League)
Coastal Bend Aviators News Release
ROBSTOWN, TX â Friday's scheduled game between the Coastal Bend Aviators and Amarillo Dillas has been rained out...a storm that had been hammering Corpus Christi for most of the day blew into Robstown just after 2:30pm, and by 5pm the conditions at Fairgrounds Field were deemed too wet to play.
Friday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday with the first of two seven inning games beginning at 5:05pm. Tickets for Friday's rained out game will be honored on Saturday, but Friday tickets must be exchanged at the Fairgrounds Field box office prior to entering the stadium. The Friday rainout actually turns out to be a great value â besides two games between the Coastal Bend and Amarillo, Friday's scheduled Aviators t-shirt giveaway (while they last) has been moved to Saturday, and the fireworks show to conclude the evening will go on as originally scheduled.
The expected starters for Saturday's twinbill: lefthander Mike Garcia (0-0) and righty Eric Martanovic (0-0) for the Aviators; Amarillo will counters with lefty Keith Ferguson (0-0) and righthander Jason Bernard (0-0).
