ROBSTOWN, Texas -Coastal Bend Aviators lose consecutive series' at home. After losing four straight to Pensacola, the Aviators have now lost two consecutive games to the Shreveport Sports as well.
J.J. Trujillo had an effective outing, pitching 7.1 innings and surrendering five runs. The Sports scored three big runs against the Aviator's bullpen in the top of the ninth inning that proved to be the difference in the ballgame. The Aviators scored a pair in the bottom half of the inning, coming up short in their attempted comeback.
On a high note, Edwin Maldonado, the player of the game, was 3 for 4 at the plate. New acquisition, Rich Gomez, was 2 for 4 with a pair of runs scored. Backstop, Stephen Morales, was also 2 for 4, with three RBI's and two runs scored. One of Morales's hits was a two run dinger in the fourth, his third on the season.
